Q. What do I need to do to be considered to work upcoming events?
First you need to click “Join Us” and create an online profile. Please be descriptive of your experience including brand names and event duties. If you don’t have any experience, that’s okay! Just be sure to describe yourself and why you are interested in working Signature Marketing –booked events. Upload a clear photo of yourself so we have a complete profile on-hand.

Q. How do I know when events are available in my area?
As events and programs are created and offered out for booking, Signature will notify you via email based on your fit for the program and proximity to the location(s). You can access the event details and apply via our website. Priority will be given to timely response and our established team with plenty of opportunity for new talent. If the event is booked in the meantime, it will not appear in your offer calendar. Don’t get frustrated if you aren’t booked, continue responding and we will do our best to get you lined up with an event that fits you!

Q. How do I know if I have been booked for an event?
If you are new to our agency, you will receive a phone call from our booking manager to discuss the details of the event and confirm your booking. Otherwise, you will receive a confirmation email from Signature and you can also access your application and event status from our website 24/7.

Q. Once I begin working events, am I an employee of Signature Marketing?
A. No, you will be working as an independent contractor and are contracted per assignment for your event and marketing abilities. We will send you a W9 form and Independent Contractor Agreement that must be completed before you begin working events. You can decide which jobs you’d like to accept and have the freedom to stop accepting bookings at any time. Signature recommends educating yourself on the rights and limitations of independent contractor work.

Q. How do I get paid for events that I worked?
We write vendor checks twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month. There is no waiting period for our vendors as long as they have the correctly completed paperwork submitted in time for the check run. This policy is appreciated by our staff and sets us apart from many agencies who may wait 30 days or until being paid by their clients to pay their staff. Payment inquiries can be made directly to our office manager.

Q. How many booking offers can I expect?
We cannot promise a set number of bookings or offerings because the needs of our clients vary by location and season. We do tend to make offers to talent with whom we have built a relationship of trust and communication, so that is key for you stay in the forefronts of our minds!

Q. What should I wear when I work an event?
The standard promotional outfit requested by our clients for retail events includes black dress pants, a white collared shirt and black close-toed shoes. For liquor industry events, we request black pants, heels and an unbranded black top. This will vary by program and area so please clarify this before beginning your assignment.
