Your brand ambassador headshot is our first impression of you – make it count!
When you’re applying for a new role as a brand ambassador, your brand ambassador headshot is the first impression a staffing agency will get of you, so it is incredibly important to make sure your uploaded headshot represents the real you in a professional manner. Our job as a staffing agency is to find the perfect ambassador for each brand we work with, and your headshot is a critical part of your application for event marketing and casted talent work!
Below are our biggest recommendations for taking and submitting the perfect brand ambassador headshot.
1. Keep it real!
We want an accurate representation of how you will look at events, so show us the real you! Wear your hair and makeup as you would on the day of an event. Do not use filters. Do not edit your photos in any way that alters your true appearance. Remember, this isn’t a headshot for print modeling work – this is you showing us your true professional self so we can match the right people to the right brands. We aren’t looking for or expecting flawless perfection, we’re looking for authentic people like YOU. And there are no filters or edits at our events 🙂
2. Get creative!
Your headshot does not need to be a professional photo, but you should consider the lighting, what you’re wearing, and your facial expressions. Show us your smile, wear something that isn’t distracting, and find a place with great natural light if you can. Adobe has some great resources for learning how to take a headshot yourself!
3. Keep it professional!
While you may look amazing in shot at the beach in your bathing suit, or love your artistic lingerie shoots, those aren’t the types of shots to send in for this application. Remember that you will be representing a brand in a professional manner, and those are the types of photos we like to see submitted. We also pass these headshots on to our clients for approval at times, so high resolution and appropriate photos are necessary!
4. Let your personality shine!
While we want you to keep it professional, you’re applying for a job that is highly dependent on your personality. Let the real you through in your photos! You don’t need to wear your best blazer, and can keep your look casual. As long as it represents you, you’re doing it right!Â
5. Keep your brand ambassador headshot updated.
If you’ve changed your hair, makeup style, facial accessories, etc. since you took your last brand ambassador headshot, please take a new one that accurately reflects how you look now before you submit it to an agency. Your headshot should be updated every 6-9 months.
6. Absolutely no selfies!
Selfies are adorable, but they aren’t appropriate for your brand ambassador headshot. Use the timer on your phone camera to capture your headshot, or grab a friend and head out for a fun photo shoot!
7. Be prepared to submit a video.
Your personality is one of your strongest assets as a brand ambassador, so be prepared for an agency to ask you for a video answering a question along with your headshots. You’ll be selling products as a brand ambassador, so be prepared to sell yourself for the position!
